We understand the challenge of entrusting your child’s safety to others, but rest assured—we prioritize their well-being as much as you do and work diligently to create a safe, nurturing environment.

We have a minimum class-to-caregiver ratio at our child care center so that each child is given the maximum amount of attention and care they need.

Our Staff

The staff at Little Butterflies Preschool is composed of enthusiastic individuals who possess genuine compassion in caring for children. All staff members are experienced in giving care and have undergone training in CPR and First Aid. We have thoroughly examined their background and had their certificates checked for validation. Besides that, they are certified in the use of an epipen, nebulizer, fire-extinguisher, and many more for the protection of the children and staff. This is deemed imperative in letting you know that your child stays in safe and secure hands.

Mary Richardson - Director

Mary Richardson has been the Director at Little Butterflies for the past two years, but has spent a total of 17 years in Early Childhood Education. Her favorite part of being in education is being able to Watch the children grow and learn. She loves to see when a child is struggling to learn something and when they finally succeed how they run to her office to express themselves by running and jumping saying, "I Did It!" Mary lives in Mesquite with her three children.

Sarah Schlugan - Assistant Director

With an impressive 27 years of experience in childcare, Sarah Schlugan has been nurturing young minds and watching them flourish. She joined Little Butterflies Preschool a year ago and has loved every moment of seeing the children learn and grow, which is her favorite part of being the Director. Sarah lives in Mesquite with her two boys, three dogs, and a snake, making her home a lively and fun place. Outside of work, she enjoys painting as a creative outlet. Her taste in music is diverse—she loves all genres—and her favorite movie is the classic Princess Bride. When it comes to food, nothing beats a good chicken fried steak for Sarah! Her wealth of experience, love for children, and vibrant personality make her a cherished part of the Little Butterflies Preschool community!

I’ve had two of my daughters at this daycare . My youngest has been here since she was 6 months , she is now 1 & 2 months & she loves her teachers and it shows. 🥰 I can also tell they love my baby. I get updates all day about when her diaper changes occur down to what she had for a snack and at what time . The love & crafts she does show how good this facility is , they’re even showing my baby to sign language 🤟 and she is definitely learning!

I’ve been delighted to be the director here!!! I love my children that all come in and give me hugs each and everyday!!! My parents that show out when we have functions here!!! I’m a very proud director!!!

So recently enrolled my youngest son here. As he was accustomed to be around family he usually doesn't take well to new unfamiliar people. However, once we met with the director he got comfortable really quick. Her personality,and the way she was able to relate with him was beyond me. It usually takes weeks to months for him to warm up to people.

It’s my daughters first time in daycare and you know how scary it feels for the first time. But the daycare is nice, teachers and director are nice. Samuel answered all my questions when my daughter started. Which actually helped me be more confident with my daughter being in daycare. I was iffy because it did state on the website that they had cameras when she started but when I asked they stated they didn’t offer that service anymore to parents. But it’s probably better so I’m not always watching her and getting distracted. But it’s good the have an app I can reach the teachers, get updates and they send me pictures of my daughter. My daughter has also learned to be more independent. Her teachers Ms Maribel and Ms Asmaa are great with her. Ms Maribel also keeps me updated on the app and when I send her messages she responded as soon as she can. Because I know she’s busy with the little ones but she keeps me updated on my daughter daily. Love this daycare!

I really love this daycare they really take good care of my baby and my toddler. Whenever I go in there it feels like the childrens are having a lot of fun. Even when It’s time to go she wants to stay and keep playing with the other kids..
